Windows Calculator Tape
Wednesday October 28, 2009 by Nick Niesen.
If you’re like me, you’ve noticed the standard calculator apps that come pre-installed on the Windows operating systems do not come pre-installed with a calculator that has a tape for accounting. Now with Microsoft’s recent upgrades to their calculator (for Windows 7) this is starting to look like a bit of a blunder. Windows Vista and XP come pre-packaged with a Standard / Scientific calculator and now Windows 7 comes pre-loaded with Standard / Scientific / Programmer / Statistics calculator.
Hello, anybody there? You’ve added a Programmer Calculator and not a good old-fashioned tape for accounting? It’s my hope that once they realize they’ve missed this most basic of options that they will add it to an Automatic Windows Update, but until then, we have to search out a new option. Enter
Moffsoft.
Moffsoft has released a couple of products that will meet your needs, one is entirely free and the other is cheap. I am personally getting by fine with
Moffsoft FreeCalc but if you need to save your tape you will want to purchase the upgrade.
More information about these products can be found on the
Moffsoft Website.
