It seems Google has stolen the show in the Technology Venue where the search engine giant has annoced it's plans to deliver Superfast Fiber-Optic Networks across select cities in the United States, one of which including my hometown Madison Wi. Tell ya what, we're definately excited about this but it no doubt will carry a large price tag. Even 10mb internet here is expensive...There's no way I'm shelling out top dollar for that, my 4mb connection is fast enough.
In any case, I can't really say I've heard much of anything about the cost, so I can't be for certain, I'm just imaginging that things haven't changed, and bigger is still better and more expensive.
The true capabilities of the Fiber-Optic Network stem into real-time streaming Television on your computers (and vice-versa), super quick downloads (blink of the eye type of stuff), and the opening up of new capabilities in gaming, internet, general computing and peir-to-peir. In my opinion, this may be the biggest innovation or invention since the internet itself.
